Being the winner of “Best Kopitiam In Sabah” at Sabah Tourism Awards, is not an easy feat as there are basically hundreds of Kopitiam around. Amazingly, Kak Nong Restaurant did it not only once but twice. They won in 2009 and again in 2011. I guess a good location and well-presented menu do play an important role somehow. Previously located in the Bundusan area, Kak Nong’s present location at the Habour City, Coastal Road, just opposite Sutera Harbour, is a terrific place to have lunch chit chats, etc. There are ample free parking space and located near to Bank Rakyat.
I especially love the Butter Prawn with Salted Eggs, and always confused by its Lamb Chop with Rice (more like Lamb Stew to me). Kak Nong Restaurant also offers daily specials and its own pastries. The price is mid-range, and the atmosphere is nice. Check it out!
