Tugu Pahlawan (Heroes Monument)

Posted at December 21st, 2011 | Categorised in Landmark

Tugu Pahlawan is located inside Taman Ujana Rimba Tropika at Penampang Road and about four kilometres from the city centre. It used to be an abandoned place with almost no visitors (except young couples?) coming to this place. . The place is much cleaner these days and more flowers are grown here than before. As a result more people are coming to this place these days then it was before.  If you wish to check out this place, it is adjacent to the Public Library near Taman Sri Gaya about 5 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu CityTugu Pahlawan or Heroes Monument is an impressive structure set amidst the landscape garden (Taman Ujana) of Sabah’s first public park project. The annual Heroes Day ceremony is held here to honour Malaysians, past and present, for their bravery and noble work of protecting this nation. By the way, read also our posting on Taman Ujana Rimba Tropika for more information relating to this place.
